PICTURES: Delhi Police seizes 625 kgs of illegal firecrackers

This resulted in the declaration of all other crackers as illegal and prompted a crackdown on crackers shop.

The crackers were seized from a shop in Sadar Bazar from the possession of one Ravinder ANI reported. A case has been registered in the matter.

The seizure comes after the Supreme Court has ruled that sale and bursting of only ‘green firecrackers’ will be allowed this year, and the agencies have already clarified that green crackers are not available in Delhi this years.

This means that those few retail shops with permanent license to sell firecrackers in the city will also continue to remain closed.

Delhi Police seized 625 kgs of firecrackers on Sunday in the national capital New Delhi after Supreme Court’s ban on all crackers except the green ones for this Diwali.
