Amara Raja Batteries Ltd on Friday announced that it plans to invest Rs 9,500 crore in Telangana over the next ten years to establish research and manufacturing facilities for lithium-ion battery-making in Mahbubnagar district, Telangana.

View In AppAmara Raja Batteries announced in a regulatory filing that the Company and the Telangana government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Friday to establish research and manufacturing facilities for lithium-ion battery production in the Mahbubnagar district.
Telangana IT and Industries minister KT Rama Rao termed the move as ‘yet another historic win for Telangana’.
The initial facilities would contain an advanced energy research and innovation centre in Hyderabad, dubbed the 'Amara Raja E-hub'. This facility will be equipped with advanced laboratories and testing infrastructure for material research, product life cycle analysis, prototyping, and Proof of Concept demonstration.
