As per the report presented at the conclave, digital news reached over 459 million individuals in the year 2023, a slightly lower figure compared to the preceding two years. (Image Source: Getty)
Among these 459 million people, consumers, on average, utilized more than two platforms to access news, with 38 percent consuming online news more than once a day. (Image Source: Getty)
EY's survey indicated that 83 per cent of consumers accessed online news via the web, while only a mere 10 per cent utilized specific apps. The remaining 6 per cent obtained news from various other sources.
A notable trend observed is the widespread use of smartphones, with 86 per cent of people consuming news through these devices, while only 14 per cent use desktops or laptops for this purpose. (Image Source: Getty)
On average, an Indian consumer spends approximately 135 minutes per month consuming news digitally, equating to less than four minutes per day to stay informed. This represents a decrease from the average consumption time of 159 minutes per month recorded in 2022. (Image Source: Getty)
