If India wins three out of the four Test matches against Australia, they will reach the WTC final irrespective of how other teams perform.
Anything less than that will mean India’s chances of qualifying for the WTC Final will depend on how Sri Lanka and South Africa perform as both will have a chance to pip India.
Later this month, South Africa is slated to play a two-match Test series against West Indies at home and next month, Sri Lanka will tour New Zealand for a Test series.
India will reach the No.1 position in ICC Test rankings if they beat Australia by 2-0, 3-1, 3-0 or 4-0.
