Ind vs Aus Ahmedabad Test: Ashwin Five Wickets Away From Breaking Anil Kumble's Elusive Test Record Vs Australia

Senior spinner R Ashwin has a chance to break ex-India skipper and legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble's record in Ind vs Aus Ahmedabad Test, starting from Mach 9.

If Ashwin manages to take at least five wickets in Ahmedabad Test, he would become the most successful bowler against Australia in Tests.

Anil Kumble is currently the highest wicket-taker for India in Tests vs Australia with 111 wickets, followed by Ashwin with 107 wickets.

Apart from Kumble and Ashwin, no other Indian bowler has taken over 100 wickets against Australia in Tests. Harbhajan Singh is at the third position in this list with 95 wickets.

Also, Ashwin is one fifer (5-wickets haul) away from surpassing Anil Kumble's record of taking maximum fifers at home in Tests. So far, both Kumble and Ashwin have taken 25 fifers in Tests on home soil, in their respective Test careers.
