Another one from the U-19 batch, who is set to an India call-up, fast bowler Shivam Mavi.
According to reports, Shaw will find a place in the touring India A side because the selectors want him to test in the next level.
Prithvi Shaw, who not only led India to the U-19 glory but also looked in fantastic form in the domestic matches and IPL, is on the selector’s radar.
But the real deal are the Indian U-19 cricketers, who in all probability will find a place in the A team.
The India 'A' tour of England will begin with an ODI tri-series against England Lions (A team) and West Indies A, from June 22.
India A will play a four-day 'Test' against the 'Lions' from July 16-19 at Worcester apart from couple of three-day games against county sides.
Sticking true to its words of giving enough time to the cricketers to acclimatize before a long tour like England, the BCCI has decided to include the likes of Vijay, Dhawan, Rahul and Ashwin in the ‘A’ squad that will travel to England prior to the Test matches.
The focus will shift to international cricket from IPL, albeit for a day when the national selectors meet on Friday to select six different Indian squads.
While all eyes will be on the side for the one-off Test against Afghanistan and the limited overs squad against England, a lot of interest will be there in the ‘A’ side.
Tuesday’s selection committee meeting bears a special significance as the selectors are set to choose six different squads. Test squad for the Afghan Test, India ‘A’ squad for England tour, India ‘A’ squad for tri-series involving England ‘A’ and West India ‘A’, India T20I squad for two T20Is against Ireland, India T20I and ODI squads for the limited overs series in England.
