South Africa captain Temba Bavuma picked up a hamstring in South Africa's Cricket World Cup 2023 match vs Afghanistan.

Aiden Markram is expected to captain South Africa in SA vs AUS Cricket World Cup semifinal if Temba Bavuma is unavailable.

If Temba Bavuma misses out on playing SA vs AUS ODI World Cup semifinal, Reeza Hendricks will likely replace him in SA playing 11, at top of the order.

“Temba Bavuma sustained a right hamstring strain during the match against Afghanistan on Friday night. He was assessed by the Proteas medical team and showed an improvement overnight. He will continue to be monitored and managed by the medical team,” CSA told ESPN Cricinfo.

South Africa have lost just 2 out of 9 matches in ODI World Cup 2023 and will look to continue their winning momentum against Australia to qualify for the ODI World Cup 2023 Final.
