Preity Zinta to own Stellenbosch Monarch in Global T20 League

The tournament will feature 8 teams - Jo’Burg Giants, Cape Town Knight Riders, Durban Qalandars, Benoni Zalmi, Pretoria Mavericks, Nelson Mandela Bay Stars, Stellenbosch Monarchs Bloem City Blazers
Preity has immense experience under her belt and has owned the Punjab franchise for 10 IPL seasons and was the only woman owner during IPL’s inception in 2008.
Bollywood actress and Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta has been confirmed has the new owner of Global T20 League franchise Stellenbosch Monarchs.
Faf du Plessis will lead the Preity Zinta outfit for the inaugural season and he will be their Marquee player.
“I am extremely proud to announce and warmly welcome Preity Zinta to South Africa and the T20 Global League family,” said Cricket SA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat.
Preity became the third Indian to own a team in the Global T20 League after Shah Rukh Khan, who owns Cape town Knight Riders and GMR group, which owns Jo’burg Giants.
Stellembosch Monarchs was earlier owned by Brimstone Corporation Investment Limited but ended their interest of owning the franchise in August, making organizers hunt for new owners.
