Kapil Dev, in the four World Cup editions he played, ended up picking 28 wickets in 26 matches with best bowling figures of 5/43.

Legendary Indian bowler Anil Kumble, still India's top international wicket-taker, played four World Cups (1996, 1999, 2003 and 2007) and picked 31 wickets in 18 matches in the tournament.
