Mithali Raj slams twitter user for derogatory comment

In the run up to the world cup also, Mithali had won hearts by shutting up a journalist who wanted to know her favourite male cricketer by asking him “Would you ask the same to a male cricketer?”

Mithali Raj was at the forefront of everything by becoming the first woman to score 6000 ODI runs.

The returned to a hero’s welcome, accolades and recognition poured in for the Indian eves.

But just one month after the tournament, the frenzy is vanished and people are back to judging woman by their clothes and skin colour.

Amongst lot of promising comments emerged an insensible remark. Someone pointed the sweat in Mithali’s dress and said that she was looking odd.

Known for her sturdy nature, Mithali was not the one to digest a comment like that as the Indian captain gave a befitting reply. “I m where I m because I sweated it out on d field! I see no reason 2 b ashamed f it, when I'm on d ground inaugerating a cricket academy,” Said Mithali.

Mithal Raj shared a photograph with teammate Veda Krishnamurthy, former India internationals Mamta Maben and Noosheen Al Khadeer with a caption ‘What a momentous day today was, standing with these special women!!’

The Mithali Raj-led Indian women’s cricket team made the whole of India proud with their outstanding performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup.

They finished as runner ups after losing a close match to England in the finals.
