The 27-year-old damaged his shoulder during a warm-up session in IPL while diving for a ball before Kings XI Punjab’s clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 5.
The Victorian had a disappointing season with Kings Xi Punjab as he could only manage to score 17 runs with the bat and clinched just two wickets during his short stint.
With Champions Trophy just round the corner, Cricket Australia has received a massive boost.
He will now head to London with alongside Lehmann and other squad members while those playing IPL will arrive when their campaign ends.
He played 5 matches for Punjab in 2017 but couldn’t repeat the impressive performance of IPL 2016.
