Kumar, first Indian to grab 5 wicket-haul across formats
Kumar’s heroics with the ball enabled India to restrict South Africa to 175 for 9 and thereby ensuring a 28-run win for India. With that win, India have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

View In AppKumar became the first Indian bowler to register a five-wicket haul in all three formats of the game on Sunday night in the first T20I at Johannesburg.
Kumar’s five for 24 is also his career-best figures in T20Is.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar joined Virat Kohli in rewriting the record books in South Africa.
South Africa were still in the game, needing 50 runs off the last three overs with set batsman Reeza Hendricks batting on 70, when Kumar ended the match in one over.
He first gave a body blow to South Africa, by picking up the wicket of Hendricks for 70 and then couple of balls later, he foxed Klaasen with a knuckle ball. If there was any hope left for South Africa, Kumar ended that by picking up Morris for a golden duck in the very next ball.
He became the first Indian seamer to pick up five wickets in T20Is and only the second Indian bowler after leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
