New Zealand recall Ross Taylor for T20 series against India

The three-match T20 series begins on November 1 with the first encounter to be played at the Feroze Shah Kotla in Delhi.

The 33-year-old has been recalled to replace injured Todd Astle.

New Zealand will start the T20 series against India as World No.1 in the shortest format of the game.

Pressure will be on India as they are yet to defeat New Zealand in a T20 contest.

Taylor’s last T20 cap for New Zealand was during his side’s loss to England in the 2016 World T20 semi-final.

The visitors have decided to recall veteran batsman Ross Taylor in the T20 squad.

Owing to his impressive run in the 50-over format, the former skipper is set to end his 19-month exile in the shortest format of the game.

After losing the ODI series 2-1 against the hosts, New Zealanders are hoping for improved performances in the T20 matches.
