Nathan Lyon Breaks 41-Year-Old Bowling Record During Ind-Aus 4th Test

On Day 4 of IND vs AUS Ahmedabad Test, senior Australian spinner Nathan Lyon broke a 41-year-old record.

The legendary Aussie spinner now holds the record for taking the most number of Test wickets in India by an overseas bowler.

Lyon bagged his 55th Test wicket in India after dismissing young India batter KS Bharat for 44 runs in 137th over of India’s innings.

Before Lyon, England spinner Derek Underwood (54 Test wickets in India) held this record.

Underwood picked up 54 wickets in India in Tests after playing a total of 16 Tests against India. Lyon, on the other hand, broke this record in his 11th Test only.

Earlier, during IND vs AUS 3rd Test in Indore, Lyon had become leading wicket-taker in Border-Gavaskar Trophy's history.
