As part of their preparations, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has made a big addition to their coaching staff by appointing former New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee as the team's Specialist Skills Consultant.

With the high-profile series approaching, England has taken a major step to strengthen their squad's readiness.

Tim Southee, New Zealand's highest wicket-taker in Test history, will officially begin his consultancy role during England's one-off Test against Zimbabwe, before continuing with the team into the India series.

The ECB confirmed the development through a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle. "Our new expert skills consultant. We're delighted to welcome New Zealand's leading wicket-taker, Tim Southee, who will be joining us for a short stint."

The post quickly gained traction, with over 55,000 views shortly after going live.
