In the fourth Test, the young opener achieved a milestone that no Indian opener had touched in the past five decades.

Jaiswal delivered a solid innings of 58 runs, displaying composure and attacking flair. Alongside KL Rahul, he gave India a dream start, putting together a 94-run partnership for the opening wicket. His knock included 10 classy boundaries and one six.

With this innings, Jaiswal became the first Indian opener in 50 years to score a half-century at Manchester's Old Trafford. The previous instance was in 1974, when the legendary Sunil Gavaskar achieved the feat.

Jaiswal began cautiously, accumulating runs with singles early on. Once set, he shifted gears and batted with confidence. He faced 107 balls for his 58-run knock, which featured 10 fours and a six, marking a significant moment in his young career.

Adding to his landmark innings, Yashasvi also reached 1,000 runs in Test cricket against England. He became the second-fastest player to reach this milestone against the English team.

6

So far, in 16 innings, the left-hander has scored 1003 runs at an impressive average of 66. His tally includes three centuries, five half-centuries, and two double tons, underscoring his dominance over England’s bowlers.
