From India's World Cup Winning Captain to Territorial Army's Lieutenant Colonel, MS Dhoni Dons Many Hats

Dhoni is all set to don the Olive Greens by commencing his 15-day stint with his Parachute regiment (106 Battalion Territorial Army), in the Victor Force formation engaged in counter insurgency operations in Kashmir Valley.

MS Dhoni has been India's most succesful skipper across all three formats of the game. He led India to their second ICC World Cup title in 2011

Dhoni will be undertaking the duties of patrolling, guard and post duty and would be staying with troops in the barracks , the army said in a statement.

Dhoni arrived on-board flight yesterday and is joining his unit today. However Army is tight lipped on the arrival and joining and had kept his actual location secret

After getting commisioned into the 106 Battalion of the Teritorial Army, Dhoni trained as a paratrooper and has done para-jumps from aircraft.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was commissioned into the 106th Infantry Battalion Territorial Army (Parachute Regiment) with the rank of Hon. Lt. Col by the President of India on 1 November 2011
