Now, with all focus on Champions Trophy, South Africa begin their Champions Trophy campaign against Asian giants Sri Lanka on June 2.
With just 14 days remaining for the Champions Trophy, South Africa have suffered a massive blow.
South Africa’s Test skipper Faf du Plessis is up for a race against time to be fit for Proteas three-match ODI series against England which begins next week.
Faf, who represented Rising Pune Supergiant in the Indian Premier League will miss warm-up games against Sussex and Northamptonshire which will take place on May 19 and May 21.
However, Cricket South Africa expect him to be fit before the first ODI against England.
