Bad news for Chennai Super Kings before IPL final against Sunrisers Hyderabad

They have ended up as Runners-up on 4 occasions. CSK lost to Rajasthan Royals in the inaugural edition (2008), Kolkata Knight Riders (2012), Mumbai Indians (2013), Mumbai Indians again in 2015.

The Hyderabad based outfit, on the other hand, has a 100% winning ratio. Then Deccan Charges won the league in 2009 and Sunrisers defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016 to clinch the title for second time.

However, the stats will be against them when they take on the Kane Williamson-led team in Mumbai.

Chennai have played 6 IPL finals so far but have managed to emerge victorious only on two occasions (2010 and 2011).

This will be the second IPL final for the Hyderabad based franchise in three years time.
