In Pics: Charred Insides Of Serum Institute Of India After Massive Fire At Pune Premises
In a tragic turn of event, a massive fire broke out at the Manjari Plant of Serum Institute of India in Pune yesterday. The fire which claimed five lives began broke out in the afternoon the at Terminal 1 gate of factory. Just in a matter of hours, a second fire broke out and was brought under control. Here are the charred remains of the premises. At least 10 fire tenders have rushed to the spot from Pune Fire Brigade and were seen fighting the blaze. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said the state government had ordered a probe into the blaze. Serum Institute is the world's largest vaccine manufacturer and is responsible for manufacturing the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine against coronavirus in India. Image (ANI)
