Border Road Organisation (BRO) today conducted a final “breakthrough blast” to mark the successful completion of excavation work of the Nechiphu Tunnel, in Arunachal Pradesh. Director-General BRO Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhry conducted it remotely from New Delhi.(Source: PTI)

The two upcoming tunnels are part of an effort to swiftly move soldiers and weaponry along Line of Actual Control (LAC). A pair of tunnels through the Sela, a 13,700-foot-high Himalayan mountain, are slated to open this summer. The Nechiphu has also been accelerated in order to be completed before winter.(Source: PTI)
