The other unveil has been the important new generation GLA SUV. The GLA is the smallest and most affordable SUV from Mercedes which is compact as well. The new GLA is based on a new platform & carries a different look as compared to earlier GLA. There is a lot more resemblance to the GLE and other SUVs now with a big grille at the front and sharper headlamps while the rear has a different look too.
The A-Class may be small but it is a proper Mercedes with all the luxury features along with decent space. We expect it to start under Rs 40 lakh which would make it the most aggressively priced Mercedes sedan in India.
The GT is priced at Rs 2.4 crore and has a 9-speed automatic gearbox too. It is amongst the most expensive cars that Mercedes has made and is the star of the Auto Expo.
It is also very luxurious inside along with space for four as it has proper rear doors. The rear seats too have good space and headroom along with a big boot.
The fourth new launch is the V-class Marco Polo. It is nothing short of being a house on wheels with a proper bed, sofa along with a big fridge and a kitchen. It is one of the biggest cars you can buy and also the only one that can be turned into luxury home also.
Mercedes also launched the AMG GT 4-door coupe which is the fastest sedan in the world with a big v8 petrol engine. It has been launched in the top-end variant with cost features added in.
It has shown its A-Class sedan for India. The A-Class would be the entry-level sedan for Mercedes in India and would be below C-Class. The A-Class is slightly larger than the earlier sedan from Mercedes and yet follows the aggressive look which the CLA also has.
The model shown here is the A35 AMG which has a powerful 2.0 four cylinder petrol. It’s India launch date is not yet known but the A-Class Sedan will be aunched with petrol as well as diesel.
