The rains this time have broken all-time record of the highest 24-hour rain in August uprooting trees, damaging cranes, tearing down hoardings, halting trains and gushing inside houses.
In Peddar Road a portion of a wall has collapsed. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corp. Commissioner IS Chahal said, 4 wards including Colaba, Nariman Point & Marine Drive received 300mm rainfall in 4 hrs y'day. It was unprecedented. Waterlogged areas were cleared soon.
