Before starring in Bollywood films, Yami made her television debut in ‘Chand Ke Paar Chalo’. Her most notable role in television stands from series ‘Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam’.

She has been pursuing her part-time graduation from Mumbai reportedly.

She aspired to be a lawyer and was also pursuing studies in Law Honours. Yami, however, left her full-time studies to pursue acting.

Yami then went on to star in movies like ‘Badlapur’, ‘Kaabil’, ‘URI: The Surgucal Strike’, ‘Bala’ and others.
