In the then-unified Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjeevi announced the formation of the Praja Rajyam Party in 2008. His party won 18 of the 294 seats in the legislature the next year.
In Tamil Nadu, Kamal founded the Makkal Needhi Maiam in 2018. From the late President AP J Abdul Kalam's house and memorial in Rameswaram, he started his political career.
Rajinikanth launched the Rajini Makkal Mandram in Tamil Nadu and only announced his foray into politics in 2017. In 2021, he let it dissolve.
In both Telangana and AP, Pawan Kalyan declared the formation of the Jana Sena Party in 2014. Unlike Chiranjeevi, Pawan backed the TDP and BJP over the Congress, with his other brother Naga Babu serving as general secretary.
