Perry started drinking at the age of 14. In his memoir, he wrote that his alcoholism began to get worse in high school when he started acting. Acting was another one of my drugs, he had written. In his memoir, Perry also discussed many of his high-profile relationships, including his romance with Tricia Leigh Fisher, the half-sister of the late Carrie Fisher, when he was 18. Interestingly, he also revealed that Season 9 of 'FRIENDS' was the only season he filmed while completely sobre. He said that he believed to have concealed his addiction from his co-stars until Jennifer Aniston approached him, noting the smell of alcohol on him.
