The official Instagram account of actor Poonam Pandey shared on Friday that she has died due to cervical cancer.

Poonam Pandey is an Indian actress and model. In 2013, she made her Bollywood debut in the movie Nasha.

Pandey is born to a family from Kanpur, UP.

She worked as a model for a while. She made it to the top nine in the Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest, and the fashion magazine featured her on its cover.

Pandey became popular thanks to her social media accounts when she opted to pose several semi-nudes of herself. She gained initial fame when she promised to strip for the Indian cricket team if it won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Pandey did not fulfill her promise due to public disapproval but also claimed that she was denied the permission to do so by the BCCI

However, there were also reports of her uploading a video of her stripping naked at the Wankhede Stadium at night.

In 2013, she made her Bollywood debut in the film 'Nasha' where she played a teacher who ends up having a sexual relationship with one of her students.

Pandey married her partner and boyfriend Sam Bombay on September 1, 2020. There was a later a case of molestation and assault against the latter but Bombay and Pandey patched up post the entire incident.
