View In AppThe wide and big front-end comes with Y shaped DRLs and a slim grille. It does get thick wheel arches and has more ground clearance than rivals with a more off-road like look. The way the cladding runs up at the side is also a new design feature while the ruggedness of the previous Duster has been retained but with a more premium look. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)
It also gets a better looking rear styling with a new tailgate. Interestingly the new Duster has its front and rear skid plates dyed in the mass, meaning the plastic is already coloured when it is added to make the part and it does not use paint which scrapes or scratches won't alter the colour. Being based on the new CMF-B platform means more space now with the new Duster having 30 mm more legroom at the back with more width. Inside, the vents are Y shaped and quality has taken a big jump with copper accents too. Plus Renault has used recycled materials where mats are 20 percent recycled. Elsewhere, there is a new 7-inch digital dashboard, new 10.1-inch centre touchscreen and new infotainment system plus amenities like modular roof bars and a smartphone stand built into the dashboard. Top-end versions get 18-inch alloys and a 6-speaker audio system too. The new platform means that the new Duster is electrified with a hybrid or a mild hybrid set-up. You get a 4-cylinder, 1.6-litre, 94 hp petrol engine, two electric motors or a 1.2l 3 cylinder one with a 48v mild hybrid system. (Source: Somnath Chatterjee)
The hybrid has an electric automatic gearbox while the other engine has a manual or an automatic with 4x4 or 4x2. The 4x4 system includes five driving settings and has a 217mm ground clearance. Hence, the new Duster is a lot more attractive and looks great with a lot of off-road ability being dialed in along with more toughness. Expect the new Duster to come to India in 2025.
