View In AppThe pricing, while aggressive, is more than the KTM RC 390 but less than a Kawasaki Ninja 400. This bike is powered by a liquid-cooled 457cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, double camshaft timing, and four valves per cylinder while the total power output is 48bhp.
The RS 457 has a 6-speed gearbox and has a Quickshifter as an option with a slip-and-assist clutch. The 41 mm fork has 120 mm travel and preload adjustability while the monoshock, working on the steel swingarm, is adjustable in preload, for 130 mm wheel travel. The braking system features a 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston caliper.
Move to the rear, the ByBre caliper brakes a 220 mm steel disc. Move to the wheels, the RS 457 has 17-inch sports ones with 110/70 tyres at the front and 150/60 at the rear.
Where this bike scores is the immediate sense of quality similar to more expensive Aprilia superbikes. If we talk about the features, there is a 5-inch TFT screen while the handlebar controls are backlit.
The angular design is rakish and sharp while the overall styling theme is similar to larger RS superbikes. Bookings will begin from December 15th while the deliveries will start from March 2024.
Overall, the RS 457 is fast and is pretty well priced for its exotic looks while being made in Maharashtra along with being billed for export too. (All Photos: Somnath Chatterjee)
