You might have been a witness to several birthday parties, but have you come across someone celebrating the birthday of goat kids? A childless couple in Uttar Pradesh's Banda celebrated the first birth anniversary of two lambs from its pet goat with great pomp and show.

A cake cutting ceremony was organised by the couple who live in Kanshi Ram colony of Banda. Relatives and friends were invited to the party that also saw the arrangement of a DJ to make the event more grand, reported news agency ANI.

Raja, a rikshaw driver, and his wife do not have an offspring. Last year, their pet goat gave birth to two lambs Laxmi and Kuber and they decided to celebrate their first birthday like someone would celebrate the birthday of their child.

"We have treated the animals as our children and we decided to celebrate their birthday with fanfare. We have named the kids Kuber and Laxmi and I take them out for a ride on the rickshaw," said Raja, according to news agency IANS.

The couple also received gifts from people who had come to attend the party. "We got blankets and other gifts for them," Raja further said.

In the past too, the couple have organised similar events to mark the birthday of other lambs that their pet goat had given birth to.

"My goat gave birth to several lambs. I celebrated it by cutting cake & playing the DJ," said Raja, according to ANI.
