After all measures taken to prevent road accidents failed, a toll company in Madhya Pradesh took to the shelter of God. They sprinkled Gangajal on a 250 kilometer long highway and performed "Hawan" for the victims of the accident. Close to 7 thousand vehicles ply daily on the 300 kilometer four-lane highway between Lebad and Nayagaon village of Neemuch district.


Accidents are very common on the 125 kilometer stretch of this highway. In the last one year, there have been more than 300 accidents in which dozens of people have lost their lives, reported ABP News.

In order to prevent accidents on the highway, black spots were located along with constructing speed breakers and dividers and , installing indicator boards where required. However, accidents continued to happen after which Gangajal was sprinkled on both sides of the road stretching from Lebad to Javra with the help of water tankers, reported ABP News. Sunderkand and Havan were also performed at Borali toll tax located near Badnavar. 


According to Rajesh Ramde of the toll company, Gangajal was sprinkled on the road with religious chants for the departed souls. He also said that a campaign around the toll gates has been started by the company to create awareness among people about traffic rules and driving carefully on the highway.


Ratlam Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi and SP Abhishek Tiwari had recently got encroachments removed from the highway in order to curb accidents and ensure smooth traffic movement. The police has also ensured that speeding vehicles are challaned so that it acts as a deterrent for drivers.
