Pizza is amongst the most favourite Italian dishes of people across the world. It has, therefore, gone through a lot of weird experiments by food lovers. Now, Pizza Hut in Hong Kong has rolled out a completely new and unheard topping that may leave you stunned. Want to know what it is? Well, it's snake meat. Yes, you heard that right.
According to CNN, the American company has tied up with a restaurant named Ser Wong Fun - over 100 years old - in Hong Kong to create this unique dish. Shredded snake meat, black mushrooms and Chinese dried ham are the toppings for this offbeat nine-inch pizza, which will come with abalone sauce base instead of the traditional tomato base. The snake pizza will be on sale until November 22, reported the outlet.
"Paired with cheese and diced chicken, the snake meat becomes richer in taste. Combined with pizza, it marks a breakthrough from the conventional concept of what maintaining good health means while challenging one’s taste buds," said Pizza Hut Hong Kong in a statement to CNN.
Shredded snake meat, black mushrooms and Chinese dried ham are all ingredients of authentic snake stew, which is extremely popular in Hong Kong and southern China, especially when it's cold outside. There are several kinds of snake stew served with meat and Chinese herbs in them.
