An Argentine couple fond of tattoos and body modifications, has broken the world record for the most body alterations. Gabriela Peralta and Victor Hugo Peralta have got 98 modifications done on their body so far, according to the Guinness World Records. The couple has gone to the extent of getting their sclera, or white part of their eyes, tattooed, making their eyeballs inky black.
They first set the record in 2014 with 84 modifications and have continued to tattoo and modify their bodies since then.
The couple say they are not afraid to be different and feel proud of their beliefs and perspectives on life.
"Enjoy life, enjoy the art. Tattoos don't make you a good or bad person - it's just art. There will be those who appreciate it and others who don't," said Victor Hugo Peralta Speaking to the Guinness World Records.
"For me, being a Guinness World Records holder is a prize that life gives me for the love of body art, and I am very grateful because this record helped me achieve one of my big dreams: traveling to 20 countries, getting to know different cultures, and making new friendships around the world," he added.
Other than getting their sclera, or white part of their eyes, tattooed, the couple together have 50 piercings, eight microdermals, 14 body implants, five dental implants, four ear expanders, two ear bolts and one forked tongue.
For Gabriela, scarification is the most painful modifications. She has three such body alterations and says the sensation is incomparable to any other modification, according to the Guinness World Records website.
The implants on the hands and forehead are Gabriela's favorite modifications.
Married for 14 years, Gabriela and Victor first met in Buenos Aires, Argentina approximately 24 years ago at a motorcycle event and fell in love.
