An advocate named Manoj Jain took his son, who had a fractured leg, on his electric scooter from one floor to another inside a hospital in Kota, on Thursday. A video of them has gone viral after they were seen entering a lift still on their scooter. Jain told news agency ANI that he had to use his scooter because there was no wheelchair at the hospital and that he was allowed to go in with the permission of the staff. However, the MBS Hospital administration say that he was only permitted to bring the scooter to the gate.

Advocate Jain told ANI that he was searching for a wheelchair, however, after waiting for a considerable amount of time, he asked the hospital staff Shukla and Mukesh whether he can take his electric scooter in the hospital which "wouldn't disturb any patients", and according to him, they agreed.

"I was searching for a wheelchair but the hospital authority did not provide it. I asked them if I can take my son on my electric scooter inside the lift and they allowed me," he said.

He then further added that the hospital administration took his scooter's keys since then he has been sitting patiently.

Meanwhile, Karnesh Goyal, Deputy Superintendent of the MBS Hospital, "Manoj Jain was asking for a wheelchair as his son's leg was fractured. As there was no wheelchair available, Shukla had allowed him to bring his scooter to the gate, but he entered the lift with his scooter". He added that scooters are definitely not allowed within a lift.

Goyal explained that wheelchairs provided by the government are yet to come to the hospital. He said he had donated five wheelchairs, and that he will donate some more.
