Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi has been appointed as the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Mizoram, Hari Babu Kambhampati, and has also become India’s first woman ndian Armed Forces officer to serve as ADC to the governor of Mizoram. During a short formal ceremony on November 29 at the Raj Bhawan in the state capital, Aizawl, this honouary title was awarded to Manisha. In the video shared by ANI, he can be seen giving the honorary title of ADC to Squadron Leader Padhi.


The Governor's office, in an official release, stated, "Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi appointed as Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Mizoram. Squadron Leader Manisha is India's first woman Indian Armed Forces officer to be appointed as Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of the country." 






Speaking over her appointment Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati said, that the Ministry of Defence suggested three names, one of whom to be appointed as ADC to Governor. Out of three names, one is a woman officer, Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi. 


"We appointed her as ADC (Aide-De-Camp). PM has taken the initiative to see that the Women's Reservation Bill is passed in the Parliament. So, when a woman officer is available to be an ADC, I thought we could give preference to her. Manisha Padhi is the first defence personnel to be appointed as ADC to Governor in the country..." the Guv added.






Squadron Leader Padhi was earlier posted at Air Force stations in Bidar, Pune and Bhatinda before her new posting, a report in Live Mint said.
