In Mizoram's Aizawl South-III constituency, where repolling was conducted at Muallungthu polling station, a significant 87 per cent of the 1,084 voters exercised their franchise on Friday. The repolling was necessitated due to voting personnel's failure to clear the mock poll ahead of the main voting held on Tuesday, news agency PTI reported. The candidates in the constituency include sitting MLA Lalnunmawia from the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), debutant Baryl Vanneihsangi from Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), Rosiamngheta from Congress, and independent candidate Zaichhawna Hlawndo of the Zoramthar group.

The initial polling for the 40-member Mizoram assembly took place on Tuesday with an overall voter turnout of 80.43 per cent, and the counting of votes is scheduled for December 3.
