The fact is during 2004-2014, when Congress was ruling the nation and the State, more than 991 civilians and security personnel were killed in Manipur. Since May 2014 till date, this tragic statistic has reduced by 80%... Repairing fault-lines created by 7 decades of misgovernance will take time. Since 2014, there has been tremendous healing of Manipur’s social fabric," tweets Assam CM Himanta Sarma.

Manipur is on the boil after a video showing two tribal women from a particular community being paraded naked went viral. The issue has led to nationwide outrage, with Opposition parties demanding the resignation of Manipur CM Biren Singh.
The video, which was shot on May 4, a day after clashes broke out between the Meitei and Kuki tribes over the Meiteis' demand for Scheduled Tribes (ST) status, surfaced on Wednesday.
The video shows two women being paraded naked in Kangpokpi district in Manipur, which has been hit by ethnic violence. The main accused was arrested from Thoubal district on Thursday morning.
