New Delhi: The year 2020 has not been kind to anyone. The world has lost many legends in these 8 months. On Monday World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) lost another legend James Harris who was battling a lot of health issues since 2011. Harris who is better known as Kamala died at the age of 70 and had his left leg and right leg amputated below the knee due to high blood pressure and diabetes. The wrestler had to undergo a life-saving surgery in 2017.

Fraternities from WWE has expressed their grief on his demise. WWE released a statement which said, “WWE is saddened to learn that James Harris, known to WWE fans as Kamala, has passed away at age 70”. The statement added, “WWE extends its condolences to Harris’ family, friends, and fans.”

Hulk Hogan, the WWE legend took to his Instagram and expressed how saddened he is with the passing away of the legend. He wrote, “o sorry to hear about the passing of Kamala.  His passion for entertaining a crowd was second to none. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and fans, much love. Rest in peace.”




Hulk also shared a picture of Kamala on the ring and wrote, “Very sadden by the passing of Big Jim”Kamala”,like everyone else I would always ask if it was ok to take the leg drop for the finish as requested by the office.Jim would always say “let’s just keep making that money”,he was such a kind soul,RIP big brother,only love4U HH”

Mick Foley also took to his Twitter and disclosed that eh has been working on an article about ‘Kamala’ since he learnt about his passing away.

His tweet read, “I have been working on an article about James “Kamala” Harris since I learned of his passing just few hours ago. I hope it’s an article befitting the giant of a man he was - both in and out of the ring. #RIPKamala’



Bill Goldberg tweeted, “Saddened to hear the news of the passing of the great #Kamala....... first wrestler I had the pleasure of seeing live. I was a believer.”



Bret Hart also took to his Instagram and wrote, “I’m heartbroken to hear of the passing away of Big Jim Harris, aka Kamala. I met Jim in 1981 in Croydon, close to London England where he was breaking in as The Mississippi Mauler working with Big Daddy Crabtree……”


Starting from The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant, ‘Kamala’ has battled the greatest superstars in the sports-entertainment history. WWE also revealed that he terrorized opponents and entertained audiences until 2006.
