New Delhi: With Ukraine putting up a fight against Russian troops for the past ten days after Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a special military campaign on Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine and wife of President Volodymyr Zelensky, has launched a Telegram channel where people can get validated answers.
Olena, a playwright, has been by her husband's side while he has led the struggle against Russia from the front lines, Indian Express reported.
The 44-year-old and the President have become the worldwide faces of Ukraine's struggle, their picture-perfect family standing in stark contrast to Russian President Vladimir Putin's solitary and forbidding appearances.
Olena, like President Zelensky, is active on social media, posting video messages on Instagram and using Telegram to verify official information.
After President Vladimir Putin stated that Zelensky is Russia's number one target and his family is number two, Zelensky's wife and two children have been the centre of attention.
Olena recently remarked in a video message on Instagram that First Ladies from all over the world are asking her how they can help Ukraine.
"My answer is - tell the truth to the world! Speak up! What is happening in Ukraine is not a 'special military operation', as Putin says, but a full-scale war, where the aggressor is the Russian Federation," she said.
"Ukraine does not need to be rescued. But we need support from the world for our army and civilians. Not just in words," she further adds.
Olena and Zelensky wedded in 2003 before Zelensky began his political career.
They met in college and became friends.
Olena became a scriptwriter when Volodymyr Zelensky founded a production business.
