WATCH: Many Injured After Downed Russian Aircraft Crashes Into Residential Building In Kyiv

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said the last time Kyiv "experienced anything like was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany."

A Russian aircraft crashed into a residential building in Kyiv after Ukrainian forces downed it in the early hours of Friday. The crash caused injuries to at least eight people and set the building on fire, Reuters reported.

It was unclear if the aircraft was manned or if it was a missile. In the video below, we can see the aftermath of the crash where firefighters are clearing out the remaining fire amid the surrounding chaos.

An eyewitness said that a series of explosions were heard in Kyiv just before the aircraft crashed into the building.

Russia has launched a full-scale offensive against Ukraine as the capital city (Kyiv) has reported dozens of casualties and has left hundreds of wounded so far.

Meanwhile, there have been a series of anti-war protests in Russia. Despite anti-protest legislation, several thousand people gathered near Pushkin Square in central Moscow to protest the move by the Russian military. Close to 1,000 people had also gathered at Saint Petersburg.
