New Delhi: The Indian embassy in Uzbekistan, on Tuesday, shared a video on Twitter from Tashkent, where the tricolour was projected onto the Tashkent City Park fountains with the national anthem playing in the background. The light and sound show programme organised to mark the 76th Independence Day celebrations mesmerised the huge crowd gathered to celebrate the event.
Independence Day celebrations in Tashkent started with the flag hoisting at the Indian Embassy by ambassador Manish Prabhat. Several Indian nationals living in the city came to attend the ceremony and show their love for the country.

Later a cultural programme was organised at the Tashkent City Park, where distinguished scholars were given awards by the ambassador.
This was followed by performances organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) with the support of the India Club in Tashkent. ICCR in collaboration with the students of Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture also performed Kathak dance and yoga.
At the finale, the Indian song “Maa Tujhe Salam" and the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana" were played. Thousands of people including locals had gathered to watch the show.
