New Delhi: Indian and Pakistani soldiers who are participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s anti-terror drill, danced together on Tuesday night on popular Indian songs.

The rare sight of the rival armies reveling together was captured by ABP News.

Tuesday night was marked as “Bharatiya Diwas” at the SCO drills being held in Russia’s Chebarkul. The Indian Army had invited commanders of all  the other armies.

As per the Indian tradition, the Chinese and Pakistani commanders were welcomed with a ‘tilak’ and ‘arti’. The commanders were also made to wear turbans.

After this the Indian soldiers presented a cultural performance.

Apart from Punjabi tracks, popular songs of dancer Sapna Chaudhary were also played at the ceremony and all the soldiers including those of Pakistan danced alike on the feet-tapping tracks.

Indian contingent commander Brigadier Vikas Lakhera said that India wants friendly terms with all the countries participating in the exercise which includes China, Pakistan and Russia among others.

In the anti-terror exercise of the Beijing based Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, eight countries have participated in the mock drill being held from August 22 to August 29.

It is aimed at expanding cooperation among the member countries to deal with the growing menace of terrorism and extremism.

India and Pakistan are participating in the drill for the first time since becoming full members of the SCO in June 2017.
