Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar concluded his two-day visit to London on Saturday to attend the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey. Prior to his departure from London, Dhankhar congratulated the newly crowned King and Queen. He arrived in London for the Coronation on Friday and joined an estimated 100 Heads of State and government from across the globe that were invited to witness this historic moment, reported news agency PTI.
Dhankhar on Sunday arrived at Delhi airport after attending the Coronation ceremony of King Charles III on behalf of the Government of India, in London.
Taking to Twitter, the Vice President wrote, "Happy to be present at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Camilla today. On behalf of the people of India, I extend my warmest congratulations to the newly crowned King and Queen of the UK."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the Royal Couple on Saturday and wrote: "Warmest congratulations to King Charles III and Queen Camilla on their coronation. We are sure that the India-UK relationship will be strengthened further in the coming years."
The Vice President at the gathering of students enrolled for payouts in UK universities said that the nation was proud of their achievements and talent. He also called on the students to play the role of goodwill ambassadors of the country, reported PTI.
