The recent mass shooting in US’ Nashville, which claimed the lives of 6 people including three children and three adults, has taken the overall mass shooting toll in the country to 129 in 2023 and is the 13th incident of gun violence in a school this year.

The attacker was heavily armed with at least two assault rifles and a handgun and came with a manifesto and school maps, detailing surveillance and entry-exits points and was prepared for a confrontation with law enforcement, said the police.

Reacting to the incident, President Joe Biden described the latest shooting as “sick” who has already called for Congress to reinstate a national ban on assault rifles.

"It's ripping our communities apart, ripping the soul of this nation,” Biden said following the Nashville shooting.
