Democrats Under Fire From Constituents
This isn’t the first time when voters expressed their dissatisfaction during town hall meetings with those in the office. Democratic members have also come under fire for being disorganised and not fighting Trump hard enough.
On Wednesday, Democratic Representative Sean Casten was interrupted several times by pro-Palestinian protesters during a town hall meeting in Downers Grove, Illinois. He warned that people “are going to decide not to come to town halls anymore because it’s not productive.”
A woman asked Casten if he committed to signing to block the $8 billion dollars that would go to Israel, to which the Democratic representative who looked frustrated said “Ma’am, I’m not taking orders from you. Have some respect for people here.” To which she said, “Have some respect for human life, Sean!”
A man who was close to the stage, said “You’re saying I’m not going to get my way while my people are being slaughtered?”
