New Delhi: Four US citizens were evacuated from Afghanistan on Monday using an overland route. It was one of the first evacuations facilitated by the US since the withdrawal of the troops from the country.
"Our Embassy greeted the Americans as they crossed the border into the third country," said an official in a CNN report.

According to an ANI report, the official also confirmed that they were the first Americans to be facilitated in this manner.
Oklahoma Republican Rep. Markwayne Mullin has said that the evacuees; a woman and her three children are from Amarillo, Texas.
Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken along with Secretary of Defence Lloyd J Austin met the Emir of Qatari Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha. The country has been supporting the safe transit of evacuees from Afghanistan which includes Americans and Afghans trying to escape the Taliban rule.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Secretary of Defense, and the Amir also discussed other important bilateral issues and initiatives to promote regional security and prosperity, US State Department Ned Price spokesperson in a statement.
