The U.S. Elections have been more chaotic than usual this year, and while the votes are being counted Kanye West has revealed in a series of tweets that he voted for himself. He shared a video of his ballot in which shows that he wrote his name and Michelle Tidball’s name in the write-in section.
Before this, he shared a tweet stating
“God is so good Smiling face with smiling eyes Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it's for someone I truly trust...me. Flag of United States"
Soon after his announcement, Twitter erupted with reactions and many were bewildered with the actor's news.
West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, did not appear to be supporting her husband. She has given no public endorsements of her husband and on Tuesday she retweeted a message about voter hotlines from Democratic Vice-Presidential Contender Kamala Harris.
Kanye West was a staunch Trump supporter but on July 4th, 2020 he announced his 2020 United States presidential election campaign through Twitter. On November 4th, 2020 he suspended his campaign, the morning after Election Day after he received around 50,000 votes, which wasn’t enough compared to his to contenders Democratic Candidate Joe Biden and Republican President Donald Trump. West has qualified for ballot access in 12 states. According to an HT report, West loaned $6.7 million to his campaign, according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission, and in a recent video emphasized religion and family values.
In a recent tweet, he posted a picture of himself in front of an electoral map saying "WELP KANYE 2024."
