Kevin O'Connor, the former Vice President's primary care physician, informed in a statement: "Vice President Joe Biden and Jill Biden underwent PCR testing for Covid-19 today and Covid-19 was not detected".
Biden took to Twitter to inform one and all, writing "I'm happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for Covid-19. Thank you to everyone for your messages of concern. I hope this serves as a reminder: wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands."
Biden's running mate Kamala Harris was also tested negative for the coronavirus earlier in the day. "This virus is still very much active across our country, please continue to wear a mask and maintain social distancing," she advised.
President Donald Trump tweeted on Friday to confirm that he and his wife, Melania had tested positive for Covid-19.
The President has been admitted to the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington having two high-risk factors for the coronavirus being at 74 and overweight with 124 kg weight. He has to limit his campaigning in the month ahead of the presidential election.
Melania Trump will continue to stay on at the White House.
