New Delhi: Two out of more than 100 teenagers attending a house party were killed while six were injured in a shooting incident in Georgia, said the authorities, reported news agency Associated Press. According to officials quoted by CNN as saying, the shooting stemmed from a confrontation at the house party in Douglasville, a city about 20 miles west of Atlanta.

With "very limited" information about the incident, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) asked that anyone with information about the assailant to contact its office.

The owners of the home told WXIA that they held a Sweet16 party for their daughter and had decided to end the party at 10:00 pm, claiming some of the attendees were smoking marijuana. The injured partygoers were seen in neigbouring yard after the incident.

As per the CNN report, it is still not clear whether any adults were present during at the time of the shooting incident, which according to the owners happened in a cul-de-sac outside the home.

DCSO said the incident remains a “very active investigation.”
