Responding to the current state of affairs, May said that UK is deeply concerned about rising tensions between the two countries and called for an urgent restraint on both sides to avoid further escalation.
“We’re in regular contact with both countries, urging dialogue and diplomatic solutions to ensure regional stability”, May said.
“We are working closely with international partners including through the UN Security Council to de-escalate tensions and are monitoring developments closely and considering implications for British nationals”, she said.
Earlier US, China and Russia have also urged the two neighboring countries to exercise maximum restraint.
Amid escalating tensions after India destroyed the JeM's biggest training camp, the IAF today chased away intruding Pakistani fighter jets in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowshera sector and shot down a Pakistani F-16 which fell on their side.
